HOW GIVING WORKS
Impact arrives from two directions. One is steady and monthly. The other is patient, reviewed only once a year.
ANNUAL DISTRIBUTION
The annual donation determined by the Fund's High Water Mark model.
Patient growth, reviewed annually.
The fund is evaluated only once each year. The first annual review takes place in June 2027. Capital is allowed to grow patiently before it begins creating annual impact.
The annual review
The market moves every day. Shared Meaning acts once a year. Growth is measured from one June to the next, against the Annual High Water Mark. Only the growth in value of the capital counts — deposits are never counted as gains. If the year is negative, nothing is given. Of any new gains, twenty percent is quietly given away.
Annual letters
The first letter will be written after the first year, in June 2027.
Good things take time. Capital grows slowly. Meaning grows slower still. Both are worth waiting for.
